About Us

For over thirty years our organization has been an integral part of the Middlebury, Vermont community, first as the Downtown Middlebury Business Bureau, then the Middlebury Business Association and now in a broadened role as The Better Middlebury Partnership.

The Better Middlebury Partnership is the principal advocate for a sustainable, vibrant Middlebury community - a respected voice, supporting, representing and meeting the diverse needs of the Town, the College, businesses and community members.

The Better Middlebury Partnership is at a crossroads. All that we do is conducted by a volunteer board and a part-time Executive Director. We do a lot! We have secured over a million dollars ($1,000,000) in town improvement grants; we organize community events like the Chili Festival; we work with our local and state government to minimize problems during road and bridge projects; we promote local shopping and run the Middlebury Money program and we support tourism marketing. BUT in our broadened role we are limited by our dues structure and membership base. We need additional funding to support additional staff, events and initiatives.

The lifeblood (or vitality) of a community can only be sustained by improvement. Settling for the status quo is inviting decay. Help us sustain a vibrant Middlebury – become one of our partners.

There two broad categories of partnership. For residents partnership levels range from $5, for people under 18, to $100, for local heroes. Business Partnership is available for $180.
